Alone In Kyoto is a track from the Air album, Talkie Walkie, released in 2004. It featured in the film Lost in Translation, and has undoubtedly also served as background music for countless TV ads and programmes since then.My name is Lisa. I created this blog in order to document my year in Kyoto, Japan, studying at Ritsumeikan University as part of my Japanese degree. I'm back now, and sporadically update this when I see something funny and actually remember to post it. Any suggestions or ideas, please send on a seeded bun to the usual address, but not by carrier pigeon this time lest it get stolen and eaten.

Are you being mean or is her name really 'Horse-Face'?

The singer's name is Bird, and her latest album's called Breath. Evidently her entourage is now so filled with Yes Men nobody bothered to tell her the two names sound silly together.

Ah, I was hoping that they mistranslated the words for "a voice as sweet as that of a bird" or something.
Brought to you in association with Protruding Cod Eyes.
