Alone In Kyoto is a track from the Air album, Talkie Walkie, released in 2004. It featured in the film Lost in Translation, and has undoubtedly also served as background music for countless TV ads and programmes since then.My name is Lisa. I created this blog in order to document my year in Kyoto, Japan, studying at Ritsumeikan University as part of my Japanese degree. I'm back now, and sporadically update this when I see something funny and actually remember to post it. Any suggestions or ideas, please send on a seeded bun to the usual address, but not by carrier pigeon this time lest it get stolen and eaten.

I have two rubber ducks in the bathroom. They used to smell of vanilla.
Big Daddy Duckling and Baby Duck sit near the end of the bath. I don't know what happened to Mummy Duck.
I fear my friend Caz may have stolen her when he moved out.
Fair play for rescuing the the duck though. I rescued my Everton Bear from the gutter recently following a love life bust up. It's a good thing.
That station is fascinating by the way. The whole living in Japan thing is.

Shhh...
I didn't notice at the time I got her gender wrong, but the duck in Leicester did and seems to have taken a shine to her... So maybe they will be "special friends".
But of course IFD can be their friend too, kind of like a third wheel that flashes bright colours to get attention.
Only kidding...
